Kimi and Elizabeth - Sisters!
This evening, we celebrated Elizabeth's 8th Gotcha Day! Our tradition has become dinner with the Kilbourn's and their daughter, Anna Marie, at China Buffet. Anna Marie and Elizabeth were cribmates in China, and now live within a mile of one another! Barb, Anna Marie's mom, and I have been friends since January, 1973, and we traveled to China together with our hubbies to bring home both girls in 2004. The fact that we received our daughters' referrals from the same orphanage and that they were the same age and already knew each other, was an answer to prayer! When we first got them, Anna Marie would share her food with Elizabeth, literally feeding her. Hard to believe that was 8 years ago! As has been our custom, each of the girls received their special "Gotcha Day" gift, purchased while we were in China - one for every Gotcha Day until they turn 18. They also give a gift to each other.
