Kimi eating chocolate!

Kimi's eating continues to improve. She is now eating strained bananas and strained pears. But last evening, she really surprised us! Mandy gave Elizabeth a little box of Russell Stover chocolates for a birthday present. Kimi opened the box, picked up one of the pieces of chocolate, put it to her mouth, and held it in her mouth with her hand. She stopped short of biting off a piece of it; but she kept trying to "eat" it without letting go of it and not biting it. Needless to say, she made quite a mess; but she really loved it! Another step in the right direction! She is also trying to communicate more. The other day, she said, "muh der" (translation: "more drink") while signing "more" and holding up her cup! What is especially significant about this, is this was "initiated" communication on her part, rather than repeated words! Also, my friend Barb and I took Anna Marie, Elizabeth and Kimi around the neighborhood on Halloween night. Elizabeth and Kimi were cowgirls, although Kimi refused to wear the hat.

  1. She's a smart girl who loves chocolate! That was a lot of fun taking them trick or treating!
