Andy's shunt was removed today as he continues to improve. He still has a lot of brain swelling; but, hopefully, that will begin to subside soon. This afternoon, while his brother, Tommy, was at his bedside, Andy opened his eyes and seemed to look right at Tommy - which is a "first"! He is still lightly sedated, however, and still on the ventilator. After our visit this afternoon, Tommy asked me if he would be able to give his brother a hug once he recovers. He loves his little brother SO much! Hopefully, he won't have to wait very many more days.
