Kimi is out of surgery and this is the first opportunity I have had to post an update. According to the surgeon, she did great! He was able to completely free her spinal cord and separate scar and fatty tissue from nerve tissue. So, time will tell how much more mobility she may have as a result. She has to lay flat on her back for the next 48 hours. So far, that isn't an issue as she is very groggy. She is on pain medication and has been quietly watching Little Einstein DVDs in her bed (see attached photo). We are in the new wing of Riley Hospital and have a nice, private room (Room 9134 in the West Wing). She is currently sleeping. Thanks again for all the prayers for her. I know there were angels in that operating room today watching over our sweet baby girl. God is great!
