We are Mike and Kathy Perry. Now that Kimi has come home, we are the parents of FIVE children! We also have 20 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. This blog was originally for our journey to bring Kimi home (see archives). Now, feel free to follow along as God's plans for Kimi begin to unfold before our eyes.

We are FINALLY home! The doctor ordered pain medicine for Kimi to take just prior to being discharged, and the nurses put layer upon layer of guaze padding on her incision, so it would not hurt on the ride home. After I carefully lifted her from the Riley red wagon padded with several pillows (they don't use wheelchairs for children being discharged at Riley, except when necessary), gingerly placed her in her carseat
and fastened her seatbelt, we started home. She fell asleep about five minutes into the trip. She was STILL asleep when I carried her into the house and laid her on the sofa...where she STILL is. She has been through so much in her four short years...and has the scars, both inside and out, to prove it. Yet, she has proven how resilient she is...even throwing kisses to the nurses as they left her bedside. I look into that angelic face and wonder: what plans does God have in store for this sweet child of His?

Glad to hear that Kimi is finally home. She can now start to recover. I look forward to watching Kimi's future and achieve what she is meant to be. Love and huggles from Aislinn.
