Day 11 in China

We had another beautiful day today! The weather was a perfect day for a long walk. So, two other families and we went on a walk through the Qing Ping Marketplace again; only, this time, we ventured off the beaten path and went down some side streets. We saw some very interesting things - like a skinned, gutted goat, hanging pork, fish being cleaned...you get the idea. There were places where there were houses in a deplorable state, right beside beautiful, modern high-rise buildings. The streets were very narrow with people everywhere. But, somehow, cars, vans, bicycles, etc. were able to navigate the streets both ways. I have attached a few photos.

After picking up a couple of items we ordered yesterday, we took Kimi to a little playground behind Lucy's by the Pearl River. Then, we took a walk in the park along the river. Later in the afternoon, we met with the rest of our group and our guide to pick up our childrens' passports, which now contain U.S. Visas, and our all-important sealed "brown envelopes". This is the packet that must stay sealed until we enter the U.S. and go to Immigration. The immigration officials will break the seal and finalize Kimi's immigration documentation and she will officially be a U.S. citizen. Afterward, we all met one last time for dinner. Two families in our group have already left, more are leaving tomorrow and we leave on Saturday. I am SO ready to come home!
